The strength of Kopdit Sehati, formed on 16 January 1983, lies in its grass roots membership. Therefore Kopdit Sehati places great importance on providing a service to its members. Its membership was initially made up of teachers and civil servants, and was pioneered by Yohanes Ngebe, Nikolaus Ruma and Gregorius Pia (alm).

Kopdit Sehati is situated in the town of Bajawa, capital of the Ngada District. In 2002 it widened its access to the general public and in 2005 started a micro finance programme which enabled poorer people to become members.

This Credit Union has benefited every member by increasing prosperity, enabling them to finance the education of their children, pay for healthcare and invest in their business'. Membership is mostly made up of farmers and small traders.

Diversification is the key with the following accounts: Sibuhar (current account); Sisuka (deposit account); Sibudi (savings for the education of children); Siharta (day stripper savings).

As at December 2007 there were 1,453 members and assets stood at Rp.7.169.533.656.
