Kopdit Jamu was started in October 1979 and has Government legal body status with the registration no 10/BH/KDK/24-9/1/2000. Jamu offers service with sincerity and honesty in all its management processes. It has slowly gained the trust of the population and its membership is growing. (In the early days of credit unions the local community suffered from credit union mismanagement resulting in general distrust of the whole movement.) The Jamu area has a rock bound and hilly topography and travelling to and from other areas of the Island is difficult and hazardous. It is important therefore that the Credit Union is trusted as access to other forms of finance is extremely difficult.

Jamu’s product diversification is by share deposit and non share. Sibuhar (current account), Sisuka (deposit account), Siwajar(savings account to help provide for family needs: children, education, unexpected eventualities), Simapan (long term investments). By 30 November 2007 membership had increased to 2043 comprising of farmers, general workers and fisherman. Asset total Rp. 5.520.237.000
